Pazo de Xaz

The 17th-century Casa de Xaz is one of the most beautiful manors in the Galician countryside. It has been described as a “noble manor surrounded by parkland and pine woods” with a “view over the Bay of A Coruña and Golfo Ártabro”.

This unique building in the valley of the Xaz river is surrounded by a labyrinthine boxwood garden pruned in the French style, considered one of the best of in Galicia.

The main house is surrounded by a number of gardens, a dense pine wood, a garden of rhomboid-shaped myrtles, another garden with hedges surrounding a sundial, a green area filled with camellias, a fruit orchard, the famous expanse of ivy that covers the entire front façade, changing its appearance according to the time of year, and a spectacular bougainvillea over the entire rear façade of the building.
